Call for Submissions ~~~ “Mid-Freeze” January’s RKzJ 2.10
Call for Flash Fiction / Faction for January’s “Mid-Freeze” edition. Make your flash prose either true to life or fictionalized, in 500 words or less, on topics relating the frozen elements of mid-winter, its hardships, inspirations, gross disappointments, ironies, meloncholies, hopes, intented and unintended run-ins with winter zen.
Our e-journal is based squarely in the Appalachian Mountains (at the famed Cumberland Gap). You need not be an Appalachian native, just able to feel the directions of our journal emphasising cultural place, geo/physical roots, environmental connection, true-to-self expression of life’s uniquenesses.
Here are some of the few “please don’ts”: no previously online or printed published material.
Here are the “please do” requests: Provide e-mail contact information, a short bio if you’re new to RKzJ (about 100 words), AND a brief explanation concerning your opinions on the submission of choice. We intend to alchemically celebrate the personalities and opinions of writers of all sorts: poets, essayists, fictionists, factionists, and every other sort of writer along the strewn road of possibility.
Send submissions only in the body of an e-mail to mountainfocusart@gmail.com with “RKzJ Freeze” as the subject line. Deadline is the last of December, 2008.
